I’m pleased to be included in this collection of writings by 21 survivors of severe trauma and abuse who have experienced many years of healing. Editor Ani Rose Whaleswan has managed the daunting task of bringing together this anthology to share the fact that healing is possible, hard, unique, and worth the effort. Maxwell (Ph.D. LLB.) includes some points regarding how dissociation factors into these issues, along with quotes from me. Ritual Abuse in the 21st Century: Psychological, Forensic, Social and Political Considerations

Publisher’s purchase page:

I wrote my article (all of chap. 19!) for this textbook in 2007, at the request of the publishers. A comment by my therapist that the article’s title could be I Was Demonstration Model, led to the focus of this piece. Collating my memories into the chronological story of my life stripped away the last of the barriers to integration – as all the pieces came together for the article, so did my alters. It also launched me into a global presence, and continues to have a larger impact than I could have imagined.
